Nigerian Boko Haram militia has converted a college science laboratory into a bomb-making factory in northeast Borno State to step up bomb attacks on civilians, army authority said.
Boko Haram captured the central town of Dikwa in northeast Borno State and converted a chemistry laboratory of the state College of education to a bomb-making factory where the insurgents manufacture Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
“Troops of 7 Division Nigerian Army conducting mop up operations to clear Dikwa and envrions of Boko Haram terrorists discovered that the terrorists have converted the abandoned Chemistry laboratory of Dikwa College of Education into an Improvised Explosives Devices making factory,” Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Usman stated in a press statement.
He said the military troops also recovered some equipment from the laboratory including a welding machine and mine detector.
Also within the town recaptured by the military last weekend, Usman said troops recovered four Toyota Hilux vehicles during the operation on Saturday.
