Chief Yunana Iliya ,The Nasarawa state chairman of the People’s Democratic Party and other state executive of the party were held hostage (Thursday) by workers of the party office over the nonpayment of their entitlements.
It took the intervention of mobile policemen stationed nearby to halt the situation from escalating. At the time of filling this report,PDP youths numbering 5 on sighting group of Journalist shouted at the top of their voices.
“We thank God that the press are here,In fact our executive’s are bunches of thieves and we will exposed them for their fraudulent act”.
“None of them will move out of secretariat until they settle us our three months entitlements, The worst was that they shared our N220m, Money that belong to the party”, He added.
Selected Journalist while at the office of the state chairman discovered that the state executive of the party and some current members of the Nasarawa state House of Assembly and office workers were holding a marathon session/meetings.
PDP member of the House of Assembly, Hon.Muhammad Okpede representing Doma North and Hon.Peter Mbucho representing Akwanga North and Hon.Muhammed Muluku representing Nasarawa Eggon North were present at the marathon meeting.
The state chairman of the party denied any knowledge of protest by office workers demanding for their emolument rather averred that they were party supporters.
“This party office whereby party supporters come around and we do help them with money”, He insisted that nobody was on the payroll of the party.
