Former Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State was on Saturday, given
a tumultuous welcome on arrival from Abuja to Yola.
The surging crowd did not give their idol a breathing space as they
chanted baba, we love you, we want you because you spoke the truth but
they wanted you crucified.
Vice Admiral Nyako was in Yola to express his condolences to victims
of the suicide bombing that claimed 31 lives and injuring 27 others
who are now receiving treatment at the Yola Specialist Hospital and
the Federal Medical Centre, Yola.
He condemned the attack and prayed God that this should be the last
adding that, the killings were uncalled for.
Shortly after that, in a chat with newsmen, he was asked about his
reaction to the members of the state Assembly who impeached him but
was quick to say, that all should see that as history because he has
since forgotten about the whole thing and expressed the hope that
people should take everything in good faith,
He also said he was now deeply into politics.
In a similar vein, management team of the American University of
Nigeria (AUN) led by its Vice President Byron Bullock has made
donations of medical supplies to victims of the April 4 bomb blast in
Yola, the Adamawa State capital.
The team which represented the President Margee Ensign heard form the
Director of AUN clinic that the consignment was diverted from the
clinic to assist the victims.
Management of FMC thanked the AUN for the concern.
