“Suddenly, an unidentified man alighted from the jeep and started shooting at Mr. Ejimmadu and his cousin, Mr. Iwumune. His wife even fell down and I think that was how she escaped being shot by the man”, the source said.
One of the schools of thought in the community was of the belief that the men were political killers considering that the people they killed were all members of the APC in the village.
However, another school of thought was of the belief that the men were armed robbers who killed the victims because they did not want to be identified by any member of the village.
Meanwhile, the state commissioner of police, Mr. Austin Evbakhavbokun confirmed the incident, the command was aware of the incident.
He added that it was a case of homicide but would not confirm whether it was political assassination or armed robbery attack.
