Adamawa: Lawmakers Asked To Slash Pay By 50%

Members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly have been urged
to slash their salaries by 50% just as the Governor Senator
Muhammadu Jibrilla Bindow directed that only 50% of his
salary be paid to him.

This he said was to cushion the effect of the suffering of the people
of the state.
He pointed out that the House should see this as a sacrifice they have to make.

The Governor made the special appeal on the occasion of the flag off
of some township roads across the state capital adding that he will
also work with minimal number of commissioners whose names have been
sent to the Assembly for clearance

To minimize costs, the Governor sad he will work with only ten Commissioners.

Still stressing on the importance of roads, Senator Bindow said his
administration will extend road construction to the rural areas so
that the people in these communities will feel the impact of
governance.

He noted that his administration met an empty treasury inherited from
the last administration and it was compounded by a debt of N44billion
saying this contributed to the late payment of the may Salary of
workers.

According to him, the former Governor Barrister James Nggilari left
only N900million which was not enough to pay workers with an amount of
N2.1billion that was needed.

He then said all the projects have six months to be completed by Ray
co construction company.

Senator Bindow was accompanied to the flag off by his deputy Mr.
Martin Babale and members of the Assembly.
