Delta Police Command has made another breakthrough in crime bursting as a police sergeant attached to Agbor Division in Ika South Council Area of the state, gunned down a member of a robbery syndicate who were busy robbing the residents at the late hour of the night.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, Celestina Kalu, told journalists that the robbers were robbing at the dead hour of the night when nemesis caught with them as a police sergeant attached to the division was returning from night duty ran into the hoodlums.
She said the hoodlums were operating with a Lifan Motorcycle along the Old Lagos-Asaba Express Way in Agbor and shooting sporadically into the air to scare residents into hiding.
She said the officer, whom she failed to name, summed up courage and confronted the hoodlum who retaliated but the officer successfully fell one of them while others escaped.
She said items recovered from the deceased criminal were one cut to size double barrel gun and three live cartridges.
She, however, said efforts are in top gear to track down the fleeing suspects and bring them to justice.
