The Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase has lauded the Governor of Anambra State Chief Willie Obiano for his commitment ‎to security and support for security agencies especially the Police Force in the state. IGP Arase made the commendation during a courtesy call on Obiano at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia as part of his one-day working visit aimed at strengthening partnership with the State government in maintaining a crime-free Anambra State.

Addressing the press after a private meeting with the governor, the IGP expressed his personal gratitude to Obiano for what he described as ‘his uncommon intervention and reforms in the state security sector, explaining that he came to encourage him to do more.  According to IGP Arase, “Obiano’s avowed commitment to rid the State of criminals is commendable. In his own remarks, governor Obiano observed the Police remained a veritable tool in his administration’s sustained onslaught against criminals which has made the state the best in the country in terms of security. The governor noted that through his administration’s organized system of crime-fighting, it has been able to prove that with proper motivation and assistance, the Nigerian Police can effectively live up to its responsibility of protecting the lives and property of the citizenry.

The governor congratulated Mr Arase on his confirmation as the new IGP, and expressed the optimism that the honour would spur him to greater and laudable achievements in the nation’s security sector. He also assured him of the continued support and partnership of the Anambra State Government.
