No fewer than 100 residents of Kosubosu , a border community in Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara, were rendered homeless on Friday night as a result of a rainstorm.

The rain, the first in the year, affected more than 25 buildings.

A similar disaster occurred in the community in 2014, with hundreds of residents, including a 95 year-old woman , affected.

The Public Relations Officer of the local government council, Mallam Jubril Masene, whose house was also affected, described the incident as devastating.

Masene appealed to government at all levels and well-meaning individuals to come to the aid of the affected residents to alleviating their hardship.
