The American University of Nigeria (AUN) on Saturday convocated 230 in
its 7th commencement ceremony of the class of 2015.
At the ceremony which was well attended by personalities, the number
of graduates supercedes past ceremonies.
Guest speaker at the occasion was Ms Nicky Colbert a reknown
educational innovator who has had a life long career in public service
and hails from Colombia.
She stressed the need for quality education which makes it gives the
desired confidence to the people.
Also, there was the need to have quality teachers well trained at
teacher colleges and well beyond.
Ms. Colbert said aside that, education boosts the security needs of a country.
President of the AUN Margee Ensign had used the for a to commend the
smooth free and fair elections in Nigeria saying this will strengthen
democracy.
She did not however fail to lament the failed attempt in locating the
trapped chibok school girls whose education will be tempered wit.
Prominent at the ceremony Saturday were the American Ambassador, James
Entwistle, Chief John Odigie Oyegun, National Chairman of the All
Progressive Congress, Chief Bisi Akande Former chairman of the APC
among others.
