Abia Government awards more contracts as Gov T.A.Orji thanks Abians for their support

Abia State Government has reiterated its determination to realize the auto market in Aba. This is part of the resolution reached by the State Executive Council at its meeting in Umuahia.

Briefing newsmen at the end of the EXCO meeting, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Dr. ACB Agbazuere disclosed that the EXCO approved that Green field Ltd be obliged with land in Aba and Umuahia for the building of a modern abattoir.

According to him, the Government also approved a number of projects aimed at bettering the lot of the people and moving the State forward.

They include contract for the expansion of the Uzuakoli Road to Nkwoegwu and Amoji junction, contract for the supply of computers, printers and office software for the new Workers’ Secretariat and the refurbished Nnamdi Azikiwe secretariat, contract for the provision of stone base on the Ozu Abam Ndiokereke road in Arochukwu LGA as well as contract for the provision of Abia Developmental and Engineering Consultancy Services.

Other contracts awarded by the Government according to the Commissioner were contracts for the construction of the New International Conference Centre Access Road, the construction of Bende Idima Abam road in Arochukwu LGA, the 12km Amawom Nkalunta Ibere cocoa road in Ikwuano LGA as well as contract for the rehabilitation of old Gariki Street in Umuahia.
Dr. Agbazuere stated that EXCO appreciated the Governor for excelling in governance while the Governor used the opportunity to thank Abians for their support which gave victory to the PDP in the State and produced the Governor–elect, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu.
