– PRESS RELEASE –
May I, in all humility and in total submission to the will of the Almighty God and the popular wish of majority of Imo Citizens, accept with unbridled gratitude, your awesome verdict as expressed by your overwhelming votes both in thegovernorship election of Saturday April 11, 2015 and in the run-off poll of Saturday, April 25th 2015.
With sobriety, I thank you all immensely for voting me to be your governor for the second time.
The renewal of the mandate you first gave to me in 2011 for another term is a resounding testimony of its own. And I am greatly delighted. I wish to state that I am not unaware of the enormity of your sacrifice and the magnitude of the task ahead to justify this vote of confidence you have passed on me.
Imo people have shown me their level of appreciation through the ballot box. The new government shall be liberal and shall accommodate all parties. All should join hands to build an Imo state of our collective dream. This victory is a victory that our good Lord has made, and we shall rejoice and be glad in it. This victory is a victory dedicated to the people of Imo state. It is a victory to the down trodden. It is a victory to the poor and the weaker citizens of Imo state.
To all my brothers who contested with me, I salute their doggedness. I sincerely appeal to them at this juncture to see the exercise as a game involving brothers and one person must take the lead. They should join hands with me to continue to make the State the envy of other states in the overall interest of our people.
