PDP North-East lauds INEC, Jonathan, urges Buhari to fulfil pledges

The North East Zonal Publicity Secretary, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Al-Amin Mohammed, has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission for the smooth conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections.

He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi on Tuesday that the outcome of the elections was an indication that democracy was fast gaining ground in the country.

He also commended President Goodluck Jonathan for his effort in nurturing democracy in the country.

Mohammed said the President’s sportsmanship conduct in congratulating the winner of Saturday’s election, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (Rtd) should be emulated by other politicians in the country.

The Publicity Secretary then reminded the president-elect about his pledges to fight corruption and ensure the security of lives and property, urging him to live up to his promises.

Mohammed also called on Buhari to address the problems bedevilling the power sector.

    They should be called North East APC. From time, it appears they were never with this government at all.
