Former senate president, Chief Adolphus Wabara has called on Abia people to reject the governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia state, Dr. Alex Otti, describing him as a character surrounded by several inconsistencies.
Wabara who was speaking at a meeting of the Old Aba Union in Aba, insisted that Abia does not need a man who is not sure of his origin and has been throwing money around trying to deceive the people.
“I used to have respect for Dr. Alex Otti, but it is clear that Abia does not need somebody like him as governor. The state will be in trouble if we vote in a character like Otti as governor. There are lots of inconsistencies about him. Abia cannot to entrust their affairs into the hands of such a character.”
He accused Otti of being a PDP member in Arochukwu local government area who transferred his membership of the party to Isiala Ngwa South chapter of the party on July 17th, 2013, in order to position himself for the Abia governorship position zoned to Ukwa/Ngwa.
“Dr. Alex Otti was a member of the PDP in Arochukwu. When he discovered that the governorship position will be zoned to Ukwa/Ngwa area, he transferred his party membership to Isiala Ngwa South, claiming to be from the area in a bid to position himself for the seat. When he lost out in PDP, he jumped to APGA, bribed his way and began a campaign of calumny to confuse Abia people on what is clearly due to Ngwa clan. This is not the type of character Abia needs as governor in 2015. Certainly, Abia people cannot fall for his antics.”
The former number three man disclosed that his group, the Old Aba Union has assessed all candidates seeking for the governorship seat and found the PDP candidate, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu as the man with the best capacity to take the state to the next level and called on Abia people to support him at the April 11 elections.
“There is no doubt that the PDP candidate, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu will emerge governor on April 11, 2015.”
