The Nasarawa state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has appealed to Labaran Maku the former Minister of Information, to return to the party in the interest of the state.
Sen. Solomon Ewuga, Director General, PDP Governorship Campaign Organisation, made the appeal on behalf of the party at a media briefing on Wednesday in Lafia.
He urged Maku to jettison his governorship ambition on the platform of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and return to the PDP who he said, `kept him in public service for 14 years.’
He said that the APGA governorship flag bearer should appreciate God and the PDP for the special favour bestowed on him.
Ewuga expressed dismay that Maku had made the PDP which developed his political career his enemy by using religion and ethnicity to sow seed of discord amongst the people of the state.
He said: “Maku knows that he will not win the governorship election; he is working in liaison with the All Progressives Congress (APC) to defeat the PDP.
“Our people would vote and change the politics in Nasarawa state for good on April 11.
“We believe that by dividing the votes of his ethnic group, Maku will assist the APC to the disadvantage of his governorship quest in APGA.
“PDP is your home, the home of President Goodluck Jonathan and all of us. There are so many of your brothers and friends in the PDP that love you. Do not break your back with the spirit of anger.”
Ewuga said that if given the mandate, the PDP would restore peace and harmonius relationship amongst the various ethnic groups in the state.
