Dame Patience Goodluck Jonathan may have not been present but she was represented at the women rally which attracted thousands of women to the Mahmud Ribadu Square in Yola, the Adamawa State capital on Wednesday.
Represented by Hajiya Amina Namadi Sambo wife of the vice President, Dame Patience appealed to women in the country to vote back President Goodluck Jonathan who has done so much for the women.
According to Dame Patience, apart from adequately giving them a place in his administration, the President has been developing the country – citing the expansion and renovation of the Yola International Airport.
In his welcome address, Governor James Bala Ngiilari of Adamawa State assured that Adamawa votes will be Jonathan’s and called on the people of the state to vote massively for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In her remarks, Mrs. Ngillari said the women were with the President and will vote massively for the PDP.
Among those who spoke include Grace Bent and Mrs. Boni Haruna who also stressed the importance of voting back Jonathan.
Earlier on arrival in the state, the Vice President’s wife and her entourage paid a courtesy call on the Lamido Adamawa Alhaji (Dr.) Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha.
