Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere has hailed women o er their strategic position in Nation building during the celebration of Mothering Sunday, yesterday at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Achi Mbieri, Mbaitoli LGA, Imo State.
Speaking to the congregation during the celebration, Prince Madumere described the mothers as the manifestation of God’s love for the people.
He further said mothers are the essence of life as Christ who is the savior of the world by the Christian belief was born of a woman.
The highpoint of the event was when it was time for the number two citizen to speak on the event of the day, he sang in a sonorous tune adulating the mothers, which the women responded by crowding and dancing with him. He was joined by his mother Ugoeze Malinda Madumere.
He however told the mothers to be mindful of the fact that women are home builders and that their supporting role in the family and its positive effect cannot be over emphasized. Prince Madumere went further to expatiate on his entreaties by citing from Book of Proverbs, Chapter 14 verse 1:Â Â A wise woman builds her house, while a foolish woman tears hers down with her own hands.
He therefore called on women to appreciate the responsibility, which God has bestowed on them and never to toil with its import.
Meanwhile, he admonished the mothers to remain submissive to their husbands while calling on men to love their wives and show them care in all ramifications.
The theme of the Sermon for this years Mothering Sunday is Faith, Obedience and Service and was preached by Mrs. Mrs Chinwe Oke where called the women to remain as submissive as instructed in b the word of God. She also told women never to be found wanting in their responsibility of service to bringing up responsible children for a better society.
