PDP Governorship candidate in Abia state, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu says he is committed to restoring the lost glory of Aba as well as make the city the China of Africa if elected governor.
Speaking in Aba, the PDP candidate who accused his opponents of playing politics with infrastructural problems besetting Aba, insisted that none of his opponents have proven to have solutions for the problems, but are only interested in scoring cheap political points with the state of the city.
โIm very much abreast with the infrastructural problems of Aba; bad roads and overflowing and blocked drainages. We have developed an action plan towards addressing these problems as established in our study. My administration will start with Aba to ensure that most of the worst areas are given urgent attention within six months of our swearing in. It is uncharitable and deceitful for some people to play unhealthy politics with Aba and its problems. They lost the fact that most cities in the country are suffering the same problem with Aba. My opponents donโt know Aba and its peculiar problems and as such canโt proffer workable solutions. They are only interested in discrediting Gov. Theodore Orji and the PDP. Unfortunately for them, Abians are privy to their antics and canโt fall cheaply to those strategies.โ
Ikpezu who was the immediate past Deputy General Manager, Aba zone, Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA) , urged the Abia electorate to shun those he described as โforeign and strangeโ candidates and remain steadfast with the PDP to ensure continuity and delivery of people oriented programmes and projects.
โIโm committed to restore Aba as the economic hub of the South East. We canโt play politics with Aba rather we are showing genuine commitment and sincerity towards rebuilding the city. With what we have designed, my administration would deliver on its promise of making Aba the China of Africa.โ
