UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon has condemned, in the strongest terms, the barbaric murder of Goto Kenji, a journalist.
Ban, in a readout issued to UN correspondents in New York, said the death of Kenji, underscores the violence that so many have been subjected to in Iraq and Syria.
“The Secretary-General extends his deepest condolences to Kenji’s family, as well as the people and government of Japan.
“The Secretary-General also calls for the unconditional release of all hostages held by Daesh and others.’’
