The Nigeria Football Association (NFA) on Friday in Abuja said the national senior male football team would now take on their Bolivian counterparts on March 26 in Uyo.
In a statement by NFA’s Assistant Director of Communications, Ademola Olajire, the NFA said the Super Eagles would no longer be meeting Brazil on that date as earlier touted.
“NFA and its FIFA Match Agent, Jairo Pachon, have confirmed that the Super Eagles will tackle Bolivia in a Grade A international friendly in Uyo on Thursday, March 26.
“We have had to work at a pace to seal agreement for this match, after the Brazilian Football Federation opted out at the last hour.
“However, we believe that the Bolivia team will give the Super Eagles a good match,’’ it said.
The statement said the NFA would continue to work on getting a second match for the Eagles for March 29 away from home.
The Bolivia game, which will hold at the Akwa Ibom Stadium, will be the first for the Super Eagles this year.
It will help the team in looking ahead to the qualifiers for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations and 2018 FIFA World Cup later in the year.
