God has really shown his gracious mercies on the people of Adamawa
State when the evil plans of terrorists were foiled by security
agencies who following a tip off, located hide out where 16 cylinders
meant to target particular places in the state.
Police commissioner Gabriel Adaji who addressed newsmen before the
cylinders full of bombs and said to be at 99% completion urged all to
give thanks to God for listening to the peoples prayers.
Says Gabriel, “I want the Muslim brothers to pray fervently today
(Friday) and Christians on Sunday to seek for further intervention”.
According to the Police Commissioner, one of the bombs was to target
the Jimeta bridge so as to cut off Jimeta and the North East part of
the country.
The Jimeta bridge is nearly two kilometers and a destruction of the
bridge will cause a lot of untold hardship to people including the
higher institutions that are across the said bridge.
The Police Commissioner disclosed that the bombs were discovered in a
cave covered with leaves and ready to be transported to their
destinations for mass murder.
He stressed further that if these things had been allowed to move into
the state capital, it would have been sorrow without end.
“These bombs had already been primed and we want people to be vigilant
and have the confidence on the security agencies by confiding in
them”, he urged.
C.P. Gabriel Adaji was full of commendation for the informant pointing
out that the Inspector General of Police has since praised the gesture
of the informant and assured that the informants name cannot be
revealed.
Responding t a question, the police boss disagreed about lapses
information gathering by the police and noted that intelligent
gathering in this case has been very effective.
Only one week back, six suspected bombers had been caught and were
said t have told security agent that they were thirty in number and
were in the state capital to monitor developments.
And paraded before newsmen on Friday were 17 suspected armed robbers,
seven kidnappers and four hand drug dealers.
The kidnappers who are in their twenties were alleged to have
kidnapped one Alhaji Bulama a businessman and demanded for five
hundred thousand naira ransom but which backfired and were arrested.
