The Nigerian Navy (NN) has issued a code of conduct for the forthcoming general elections to its personnel.

The code of conduct is issued according the directive by the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin.

The code of conduct is aimed at educating the naval personnel on the do’s and don’ts as an officer during the elections.

The code of conduct stipulates that officers must not carry any offensive weapon to polling booths.

“Officers must not conduct themselves in an unruly manner, they must not disobey any lawful order of the presiding officer,’’ it says.

It also warned the officers not to escort or provide any means of protection to election officials and materials without the authority of the commanding officer.
