Plots by the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) to manipulate the 2015 general elections using some compromised Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] officials appears to have been exposed – judging by recent leaks to the media.

Election monitoring group, Coalition For Credible Elections in Nigeria (CCEN) said its investigations reveal that 12 INEC state electoral officials have scheduled to meet with some opposition figures in a secret location in Abuja on Sunday to perfect a grand plot to manipulate the general election in favor of the opposition.

The officials including those from Niger, Taraba, Kebbi and some other northern states are said to have been promised significant sums of money by the APC leaders to manipulate the process and announce doctored results in favor of the opposition party.

Part of the Abuja meeting, as gathered is to ensure adequate mobilization as the officials are said to have requested for advance payment and protection.

Efforts to reach INEC headquarters on the matter proved abortive but there are feelers from the commission that some officials have been placed under watch following the discovery of their secret romance with APC leaders.
