Nigeria Government on Thursday says the new pact with Multinational forces have ensured the bombardment of major Boko Haram camps in the troubled north eastern Nigeria.
The Military action is now making the terrorist to run from one camp to the other within the north east region while many towns and villages are being liberated says Spokesman of Nigeria’s National Information Centre Mr. Mike Omeri.
” we are alongside the allied forced are making real progress ; we are succeeding more than before, the terrorist are being killed in the their camps while others flee to other camps. We will continue to pursue them and ensure we degrade the Boko Haram terrorists.
” The Multinational Forces have so far shown genuine commitment to fighting these terrorists, the containment and degrading of the Boko Haram sect has been the priority of the Multinational Forces along with their Nigeria counterpart.
” we are now feeling the impact of the Joint operation which has in recent days assisted in destroying many Boko Haram camps; we are winning the war and we hope to continue, just watch out in the next few days ” Omeri said
Mr Omeri added that the renewed war against the terrorists have also opened a new front as the ” Boko Haram have commence recruits in locations such as Geidam Mairi and Dupcha in north eastern states of Borno and Yobe states “
”In the general effort to contain acts of insurgency in the North East and secure entire area for the forth comming elections, the. Centre wishes to alert the general public on a very recent intelligence reports which indicate a considerable movement of Boko Haram recruits from locations such as Geidam, Mairi and Dupcha in Borno and Yobe States training camps
“This recent development has been alluded to by the Boko Haram group in its recent boast about having a 30,000 – 50, 000 strong force to disrupt elections in Maiduguri .
“However, the Nigeria Military Forces have fully mobilize and deployed against the insurgents who are being chased and roundly subdued. Therefore we urge the general public to exercise a high level of vigilance and also support the effort of the military to ensure hitch -free elections ” Omeri said
