A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Njaba Local Government Area of the state, Chief John Agbasi has assured the people of the state and Njaba people in particular that an era reminiscent of former governor, Achike Udenwa’s will return back to the state if they vote for PDP on the February 28, 2015governorship election.

Speaking with journalists weekend in Nnenasa, Agbasi said when the PDP would take over the governance of the state, the local government system would work again in addition to the development centres and as a result, more food, good jobs would be provided while the economy of the state would rejuvenated by the PDP-led government.

He stated that any vote for APC and Rochas would mean more impoverishment for the people of the state, who had suffered under the administration.

He hailed the choice of the former deputy speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Chuma Nnaji, as the running mate to Chief Emeka Ihedioha, the party’s governorship candidate for the February 28, 2015 election.

Agbasi, who is a member of the Imo state PDP Elders Council, added that Nnaji’s choice has further reinforced the party’s determination to effect the imminent change which the people of the state had been clamouring for in the past three years in Imo.

Describing Nnaji as a renowned banker, administrator, journalist and a reform-minded technocrat, who embodies the virtues of honesty, integrity, selflessness and dedication to the overall good of the society, Agbasi said the former lawmaker remains a strategic partner to Ihedioha in the onerous task of driving the needed change in Imo State.

He expressed happiness that the choice of Nnaji would not only address the long years of marginalization the people of the Njaba/Isu/Nwangele/Nkwerre Federal Constituency had faced in the state under previous administrations, but would ensure the area becomes a people to reckon with in the political calculations in the state.

Agbasi described Chief Emeka Ihedioha and Nnaji as two distinguished Nigerians and men of impeccable character and untainted public service records, adding that the choice of Ihedioha as the PDP governorship candidate and Nnaji as running mate has re-defined the governorship contest and become a serious concern to the APC and its government in the state.

Agbasi, who is the chairman of the party’s Peace and Reconciliation Committee in Njaba council area, disclosed that through his committee, the party had reconciled many aggrieved members to the extent that they had gone as far as converting new members through the committee.

He disclosed that when elected into office, this would the first time the people of Njaba would be occupying an executive position at the state level.

The PDP chieftain urged the people of Imo State and Njaba LGA in particular support the PDP to end the ongoing suffering, unemployment and infrastructural deficit in the state, by voting massively for the party starting from the February 14 presidential and National Assembly polls.
