The Director General of Chief Sir Victor Umeh Campaign Organization , Barr. Obele-Chuka Obele has called of the Inspector General of Police, Sulaiman Abba
and the Anambra state commissioner of police, Hassan Karma to enforce the provision of the breach ofย ย peace and unlawful Assembly law on Honourable Uche Ekwunife for allegedly destroying the political billboard of Chief Sir Victor Umeh at various Locations in the Central Zone of Anambra state.
Taking journalists round the sites, the Director General of Chief Sir Victor Umeh Campaign Organization , Barr. Obele-Chuka-Obele disclosed that only the posters of Honourable Ekwunife are still standing in Ezi-Na-Ano,ย ย Enuguw-Ukwu , Agu-Ukwu- Nri, Adazi , Nwagu-Agulu , Nkpor,ย ย Ogidi, Borromeo and other places around the senatorial district as at the time of the tour.
He described theย ย actionย as most unfortunate.
His Words โWe call on the Inspector General of police (IGP) and the Anambra state commissioner of police to immediately enforce the provision of the breach of peace and unlawful Assembly Law, Section 3(2) orย that he should prescribe a one-year prison term or one million naira fine or both prison term or fine for its violation
In spite of these deliberate provocations by this group and also in spite of the fact that Chief Sir Victor Umeh Organization, has the wherewithal, capacity and capability to retaliate ten folds we still restrain ourselves and resisted the temptation ofย degeneration to her level of gutter politics and thuggery which has become the imprimatur of Iyom Uche Ekwunife
‘We are guided by the philosophy of our principal Chief Sir Victor Umeh, to maintain high decorum and run a purely issue-based campaign devoid of any action that might cause breach of peace in the state ,’ Obele said.
Reacting through the Director General of her Campaign Organization, Hon. Aphonsus Arinze Anagu , Ekwunife dissociated herself from the allegation describing it as a figment of imagination
She alleged that her billboards had been destroyed on many occasions, but she decided to remain resolute and embarked on issue-based campaign devoid of cheap propaganda.
According to the DG, ‘ We have refused to join issues with the Victor Umeh but at this point, weย need to clear ourselves and react to the silly allegation.
To start with, the same Victor Umeh has been going round, saying that our principal is not the candidate of the PDPย and the same person is still going round saying she is defacing his billboards.
Let us state clearly that chief Victor Umeh has global enemies, he has enemies across the wards, local governments and zones in all the Southeasternย States.
‘People from Abia state are pursuing him, people from Imo state are pursuing him, people from Enugu state, Ebonyi state, Anambra are all pusuing him.
‘In Anambra state, he has enemies, in all the wards, local government and zones and to that extent, Victor Umeh should go and look for those pursuing him not Chief Uche Ekwunife.
‘He is used to blackmail, those people he used and dumped are now the ones that has turned against him. They are the people pursuing him.
‘We remember vividly during the last govenorship election at Ekweme Square, how he wasย distributing one silly document against Ifeanyi Uba and he gave it to our to principal and sheย said to him, ‘please donโt get me involve in this, I donโt want to see and I donโt want to have it,’ .Ask him?
‘So, he is used to blackmail and those people he must have been doing that business with, now he has schemed them out, they are the one pursuing him.
‘Our Principal is a woman, go and ask her numerous supporters ,she has never for one day hired thugs, you cannot see thugs in her campaign training.
‘You canโt see her engage in any illegal activities and she has never asked anybody to go and deface anybodyโs posters, let alone billboards
Victor Umeh should leave our principal alone, he knows she isย an albatross on his neck because he knows she will win him hands down,’ Anagu boasted.
