The Delta State Government has been rated as one of the best States in the Federation with an excellent Health care and Education policies.
Honourable Justice John Inyang Okoro, Justice of the Supreme Court who represented the Chief Justice of Nigeria at the CJN Sports Competition held in Warri, gave the ratingSaturday, after being conducted round the Warri Central Hospital Maternal and Child Care Unit, Nana College, The Ekpan Fish Farm and a Dry Spice factory by the State Attorney-General, Mr. Charles Ajuyah, SAN, to showcase the giant developmental strides by the Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan’s administration. The visiting Jurist of the Supreme Court was in the State to formally declare open the 20th edition of the CJN Sports Competition.
The Supreme Court Justice who was marveled by the quality of facilities at the Hospital and Nana College, said what he saw on the ground cannot be quantified as it affects the lives of the poor and vulnerable. He said the free health care program for pregnant women including caesarian sessions was sound and commendable which should be replicated by other State Governments to give their people hope and a new lease of life.
At the Oreyeseorise Dry Spice factory and the Ekpan Fish Farm , the CJN applauded the State Government for supporting the farmers and promoting agriculture and entrepreneurial skill development, saying that Government investment in these areas will not only boost food production but will create employment opportunities. The CJN who was told that the Ekpan Fish farm which has over 16, 000 ponds have benefited from the State Government interest free micro credit scheme to boost their production, charged other States of the Federation to copy the Delta State model
