Chilling reports filtering into Maiduguri this evening are suggesting that Boko Haram terrorists may have taken Chibok town of Borno state and hoisted their flags there.
Chibok was the town where the 219 schoolgirls were kidnapped and taken to the unknown some seven months ago.
If the details are anything to go by Chibok would be the number nine (9)local government area of Borno state that has so far fallen into the so-called annexed Islamic Caliphate of the Boko Haram terrorists.
Lack of communication network and around the supposed seized town makes it difficult for newsmen to get details and confirm development from known sources there.
A spokesman of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Abbas Gava, confirmed to this Blogger that there was an attack and many lives were feared killed during the invasion. He also confirmed that the town was actually seized by the Boko Haram.
“I have been able to gather from my colleagues around Uba and Adamawa villages who confirmed that the attack took place and casualty level may be high. And I am well informed that the town was seized by the Boko Haram who had since hoist their flags there. Many people were killed, according to my sources, including our local Vigilante and members of the civilian JTF”, Gava said.
Principal of Government Girls Secondary School Chibok, Mrs Asabe Kwambura, was also contacted on phone but said she has little or no idea about the attack.
“Honestly, I don’t have much information about the attack because I left Chibok three weeks ago and there is no network for me to call our people there. I am in Maiduguri right now “, she said.
Sources within the security circle in Maiduguri, Borno State capital too seemed to be in the dark about the attack, as most of those quizzed about Chibok claimed to be ignorant about the attack.
