The Department of State Services (DSS), Anambra Command has arrested eight suspects who snatches car from their owners at gun point in different parts of the state.
The state Director of Security, Mr Alexander Okeiyi, who paraded the suspects in Awka on Wednesday before newsmen, said that four vehicles snatched and sold by the gang were recovered by the command.
He gave the names of seven of the suspects as Chizoba Agwuike, Kingsley Okpara, Arinze Nweke, Onyedika Okoye, Uche Ike, Kelvin Umeh and Uche Chibuzo.
Okeiyi said that the name of the eighth suspect was withheld in order not to jeopardize further investigation of the case.
“In the course of investigation, two locally-made pistols were recovered from Okpara.
“The suspects confessed to playing various roles in the car snatching syndicate,” adding that a Nokia 105 handset snatched along with a car was also recovered.
