2015:  I Have Been Endorsed By Gov.Orji – Wogu

Former Minister of Labour and Productivity and PDP governorship aspirant in Abia State, Chief Emeka Wogu says he has been endorsed by Gov. Theodore Orji as his successor in 2015.
Wogu who disclosed this while addressing a town hall meeting with the people of the five local government areas of Abia North senatorial zone at Ohafia, added that te governor in support of all the PDP governorship
aspirants from Abia South zone.
According to him,” I have no problem with Gov. Theodore Orji.  I have cordial relationship with him. He is in support of every PDP aspirant from Abia South. My own endorsement is to be strong and tell Abia people what I will do if I become governor. I will build on the foundation laid by the governor.”
Wogu who was upbeat about his chances of emerge the PDP candidate, added that  having being a former council boss, federal commissioner and minister of Labour and Productivity, he stands taller in experience than other aspirants to the governorship seat of the state.
He promised to revolutionalize the power, housing, road rehabilitation and agricultural sector of state.
“I will fix Aba; Amanmong, Omuma, Ngwa road because if we get Aba right, we would have gotten Arochukwu, Ohafia and other cities right. If I become governor, it will be well with Abia North. I know where solid mineral are deposited in all the local governments of Abia state. We will look beyond oil and gas and developed the solid mineral and tourisms sectors.  The tourism potential of Arochukwu; the Long Juju and others will be developed.. Ohafia will become the next commercial capital of the state because it has the capacity to receive finished good from Aba. If you want to upgrade cities in Abia North, you must improve housing to support it. We are going to build housing estates and power plants, build and improve farm settlements in areas where we have the comparative advantage. I will turn waste to wealth. I need your support to make these things work. I want the Abia North people to support me because with my experience and exposure, we will get them right.”
On agriculture, Wogu promised to borrow President Goodluck Jonathan’s reforms, stressing that food sufficiency and creation of jobs through the agric sector would be a cardinal feature of his administration.
“We will go into the production of rice to boost IGR. 200,000 jobs would be created annually in the agricultural sector. We will revive cashew production in Umunneochi and cocoa processing in Itumbuzo areas as Michael Okpara did in the former Eastern Nigerian government. We will also tap the experience of Dr. Eme Okoro who is an authority in the agricultural sector.”
He commended the people of Abia North for their support for power shift to Abia South.
In their separate speeches, Dr. Eme Okoro, Chief K.K Owen, Senator Onyeka Okoroafor and Chief Henry Agbaeze, extolled Wogu’s qualities and stated that Abia state would benefit immensely with him as governor in 2015.
