Felix Hassan Hyet were said to have arrived at the PDP office in Kaduna about 5pm to submit the said list – but the doors were closed against them. PRESS CONFERENCE ON THE PDP WARD CONGRESSES COMING ON THE 1ST OF NOVEMBER 2014, BY STAKEHOLDERS OF THE PARTY, ON 30TH OCTOBER, 2014
Based on the guidelines for the election of the PDP adhoc ward delegates, which ought to commence on the 1st day of November 2014, we, as stakeholders in our party, wish to call on all aspiring ward delegates and full card-carrying members of our party, to come out and participate in the coming ward congresses, irrespective of whether they were able to purchase the delegate forms or not.
Our call becomes imperative in view of the deliberate and mischievous underhand tactics that has ensured that forms for aspiring delegates has completely been denied to them by the Kaduna state party chairman.
Even though no assuring answer has been gotten from the PDP leadership in both the state and national level on the complete absence of the forms to those who want to purchase them, we however, as democrats that believe in the sanctity of fairness, morality and justice, as ingredients for a sustained democratic process, appeal to all aspiring ward delegates in all the 255 wards of Kaduna state to come out fully on the 1st of November to take part in the congresses at their various wards.
We however, are at a loss as to why delegate’s forms will deliberately not be sold to aspiring delegates. This goes in the face of initial assurance of a level playing field gotten from our national leaders. It is also demoralizing for thousands of our party delegates to mobilize themselves for the forthcoming delegate’s election, only for forms to be denied them.
We, as major stakeholders in our party, and as aspiring gubernatorial candidates from Kaduna state, want to assure our party leaders at both the state and national level of our unalloyed loyalty and commitment to the sustenance and growth of our party, on the premise of reciprocal justice, equity and honour in the conduct of party affairs in our dear state.
However, we want to call on all people across our dear state to be part of any peace-building process, remain orderly and law-abiding for the sake of our dear party, our state and our country.
