The Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has today announced that government will commence ranking and promotion of Officers of the Imo Community Watch (ICW) to commensurate with their track record of gallantry.
Governor Okorocha stated this while addressing the officers and men of the ICW at the Imo International Conference Centre Owerri.
The Governor, who commended some of the Community Watch offices for being alive to their duties, stressed the need to organize regular trainings and physical tests to guarantee their fitness.
He assured them that all their outstanding salaries of five months will be paid in bulk, while the subsequent salaries will be paid through the Community Government Council’s (CGC)
The Governor explained that the delay in their payment was as a result of conflicting records from Traditional Rulers and the State Coordinator of Imo Community Watch.
He further promised to provide the security outfit, the necessary uniforms and equipments to operate effectively.
