Imam] to the Speaker of the House of Representative, Honorable Tambuwal in attempts to respond to the increasing noise decide over the possible defection of the Speaker of the House of Representative from the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] to the All Progressive Congress [APC]. The media aide, in talking to 247ureports.com confessed that he was not able to deny or confirm the said speculation.
Nonetheless, a source who spoke to 247ureports.com indicate that the Speaker has opt for the All Progressive Congress – and has taken the decision to make the defection open to the public in the coming days. The source also indicated that the Speaker will be picking APC presidential form immediately following the announcement. He added however that the Speaker had developed cold-feet over his coming announcement of his defection and of his presidential run.  The cold-feet is said to have come as a result of intense inside negotiations within the APC over the contest for who to present for the presidential primaries. The negotiations which has resulted in the stepping down of Bukola Saraki of his 2015 presidential ambition is said to likely affect other aspirants in the like of the governor of Kano State, Malam Rabiu Kwankwaso. The target of the APC chieftains, according to our source, is for the APC to present Abubakar Atiku and Mohammadu Buhari for the presidential primaries. In the estimation of the chieftains, the duo offers the best chance at winning the presidency against a Jonathan incumbency.
The source adds, the latest equation by the group of APC chieftains does not auger well with the Speaker – who was once considered a beautiful bride for the APC. It is understood that the Speaker’s shift to the APC was based on his ability to contest for the presidency. The automatic return ticket given to the President by the PDP is said to be the main reason for Tambuwal’s decision to dump the PDP for the APC.
And now that the door appears to be shutting on his presidential dream, it remains to be seen if Tambuwal will complete the jump over to APC.
