The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano is expected to perform the formal unveil of a brand new identity (logo and pay-off line)of the Anambra State Broadcasting Service (ABS) as part of the station’s repositioning and rebranding strategy. The brand identity unveil is the highpoint of a 4 – day strategy session to review the station’s operations, people and processes, and also chart a new course to meet the challenges in the media sector such as rising competition and the demands of digitization. The session which is being organized by the new management and sponsored by DFID – SAVI will hold from Tuesday, September 9, 2014 to Friday September 12, 2014, and attendance is strictly by invitation.
Speaking on the initiative, the Managing Director/CEO of ABS Mr. Uche Nworah said that the “strategy session is in line with His Excellency, Chief Willie Obiano’s mandate to ABS to transform into a world-class media and entertainment organization.” Mr Nworah said that the station’s expectation is that at the end of the exercise the staff would have imbibed new ideas and the strategic direction that would help the station to achieve its goals.
Amongst those scheduled to speak during the session are Chief Tony Onyima, Honourable Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism in Anambra state, Engineer (Mrs.) Veronica Eke, Zonal Director, Enugu Zone, National Broadcasting Commission, Mrs Linda Egbuonu, Area Manager, Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Mark Okoye, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Investments and Executive Director/Secretary to the Governing Council, Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency (ANSIPPA), Melie Onyejepu, Senior Special Assistant  to the Governor on Budget, Planning and Strategy among many others.
