Friends of the former Vice President Abubakar Atiku in the All Progressive Congress (APC) yesterday expressed support for the presidential ambition of the former number two citizens.

The friends under the auspices of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar Collectives (AAA) from the South West and Kogi States said the APC chieftain had the credentials to fix Nigeria’s troubles.

The group’s zonal leader, Bode Ajewole, told newsmen in Ibadan, that given Atiku’s experience in business and governance, “he will solve the unemployment, economic, political, social and security challenges facing the country.”

While noting that the conference was to herald support for the formal declaration of Atiku Abubakar scheduled for Wednesday, September 24, he said the leadership and members had decided to work for the emergence of Atiku in the forthcoming APC presidential primaries.

He said this was because Nigeria needs a bridge builder, a detribalized Nigerian with his foothold in all the six geo-political zones of the country.

According to him, Atiku’s contacts and connections within and outside the country will be of immense benefit to Nigerians.

“We are convinced beyond reasonable doubt that Atiku winning the primaries of our great party will be the beginning of the party’s success in the forthcoming presidential election,” he said.
