Governor Rochas Okorocha has assured the people of Mbaise that work at the University Campus Site in their area would be accelerated for completion before the end of 2014.
The Imo State Governor disclosed this when traditional and political leaders of Mbaise Nation visited him at the Government House Owerri to officially invite the Governor for their Iriji Festival.
Owelle Okorocha who commended the leaders for their sense of purpose and upholding the bond among the Mbaise people through the Iriji Mbaise festival, promised to do everything to make the people happier.
He noted that the Rescue Mission Government has built 36 new Primary Schools, 3 General Hospitals and over 40 km asphalted Roads in Mbaise and thanked the people for being supportive of the government.
The Governor further promised to reconstruct the about 1.5 km Douglas Road Mbaise as well as look into other areas of their needs.
Earlier, the traditional ruler of Amanano Obohia Aboh Mbaise and Chairman Owerri Zonal Traditional rulers, HRH Eze Chidume Okoro said they had come to invite the governor to the Iriji Mbaise festival as well as thank him for carrying the people along in the scheme of things of government.
Eze Okoro revealed that Iriji Mbaise festival which has lasted for over 50 years is a Cultural Festival that units the 91 Kingdoms that make up the Mbaise nation.
He appealed for government sponsorship of the festival while assuring him of the support of Mbaise nation.
