Mad Woman Gives Birth To Twin At A Petrol Station, Aba

Residents of Alaoji Village, Obin rgwa council area of Abia state were shocked at the weekend when a mad woman gave birth to a twins at a filling station along Aba — Ikot Ekepene road,Aba.

 

Eyewitnesses told our correspondent that mad woman who has been living at the area may have given birth to the twin around 4am on Saturday as they woke up to hear the cries of babies.

 

“The mad woman has been heavily pregnant; we don’t know who impregnated the woman. We also knew that her time of delivery has drawn but we couldn’t do anything due to her situation. On Saturday morning, we woke up to hear the cry of babies. When we got there, people have already gathered.”

A resident of the village who gave his name as Jerry said they met the mad woman after she had given birth to the twin. He disclosed that an elderly woman who he suspected to be a nurse assisted to sever the umbilical cord of the twin.

 

He added that the mad woman rejected a piece of clothes given her to cover herself, but preferred waterproofs.

 

Before efforts were made to take the babies away from her, one of them was said to have died while a team of Policemen from the Ogbor Hill Division led by their DPO, Helen Nze later arrived the scene and took them away.

As at the time of filing this report, police sources hinted that the surviving baby has been taken to the hospital while the dead one has been deposited at an undisclosed morgue in the city.
