- Promise effective partnership against crime
The Acting Inspector-General of Police, IGP Suleiman Abba, NPM, mni Wednesday, August 13, 2014 received at the Force Headquarters, Abuja the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano and the Executive Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido.
Addressing Governor Willie Obiano, the IGP thanked him immensely for being a true friend of the Nigeria Police Force especially for his effective appreciation of the enormous challenges facing the Force and for all he has done so far, including revamping Police Base Stations, providing Sixty (60) patrol vehicles and other crime fighting equipment, within such a short time as Governor, to positively impact the Force and the entire security architecture of Anambra state.
Responding, Governor Obiano congratulated the IGP on his new assignment as Inspector-General of Police and on the successful conduct of the recent governorship election in Osun State. He thanked the IGP for the efforts of Police Officers and men serving in Anambra whom he stated are doing a great work combating crimes and criminality in the State. He equally noted that in addition to his significant contribution in improving the lot of Police Officers in his State, he is at the moment constructing residential quarters for Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) in twenty-one (21) Local Government Areas of Anambra State.
On his part, the Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, represented by his Deputy, Alhaji Ahmed Mahmud, expressed confidence in the ability of the IGP to move the Nigeria Police Force to greater heights, adding that the Force under the new Police Boss would bring about sustainable safety and security in Nigeria.
In his response, the IGP stated that the visit has further strengthened his resolved to reposition the Police for effective service delivery and disclosed that his administration is working vigorously to strengthen the Police Public Partnership for greater results in crime prevention and control.
