Information reaching 247ureports.com from sources in Abia State reveal that five people were killed today at the camp neya home of Orji Uzor Kalu at Igbere. This development comes as the former governor of Abia State declared his interest to run for the Abia north senatorial seat in 2015 on the platform of Peoples Progressive Alliance [PPA]  today at his Igbere home.
Our reporter who witnessed the incident said that hundreds of PPA supporters who came to welcome Orji Uzor Kalu were kept outside before the ex governor arrived. As soon as Orji Uzor Kalu arrived with his convoy some of his supporters who attempted to enter when the gate were hit by Orji Uzor Kalu’s security convoy that were on top speed.
Details remain sketchy but five people were believed dead while four elderly women, a male teenager and several others were wounded. The deceased were taken away by Kalu’s aides. Kalu who appeared unperturbed by the event told his angry guests that he is in the race for senate on the platform of PPA – and hurriedly, he left for his sitting room.
