Nasarawa state Governor,Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has attributed the slow pace of progress in the state, eighteen years after creation to bad leadership – ranging from abandoned project, empty treasury, absence of infrastructural development among others.
He identified lack of political will as a major preponderance mitigating against what was termed under-development under elected Governors of the state.
Al-Makura also lamblasted members of the state House of Assembly for conniving with some stakeholders in the state to frustrate the development of the state by dragging the wheel of progress backward.
He in addition revealed that no amount of campaign of calumny aimed at discrediting the incumbent administration will deterred him from providing the basic needs of livelihood hitherto denied the populace.
Governor Al-Makura further frazzled that is no longer business as usual as was obtainable in the past.
He called the position of the state legislators as an exercise in futility, disclosing that he remain the Governor of Nasarawa state.
The chief executive gave the hint while addressing Fulani communities of Nasarawa state and beyond that had thrown their weight over the recent verdict of the seven man panel that vindicated him from the sixteen count charges leveled against him by the state lawmakers.
He called on all and sundry to remain calm and resolute, Appealing to Fulani communities and people of the state to come out en masses to obtain their permanent voters card which he said will commence soon.
The Governor said the collection of permanent voters’ card will give the people sense of belonging by protesting and protecting those they elected through a popular mandate given instance with the current situation in the state.
Umaru Tanko Al-Makura also appoint a Fulani woman as Personal Assistant on women Affairs, He asserted that the appointment was an effort aimed at carrying all the kinfolks in the state along.
Those appointed are Mohammed Ja’afar Liman as Special Assistant on Animal Husbandry and Grazing route as well Hajiya Kande as Personal Assistant on women Affairs.
Those in attendance include the National leader of Miyyeti Allah Cattle Horee,Bello Bodejo,All heads of communities cut across the thirteen Local Governments and eighteen Development Areas of the state.
Bello Bodejo assured the Governor of the state of the cooperation of all pastoral nomads in the state by devising all other ways of ensuring peaceful co-existence among farmers and Fulani’s in the state.
He commended the effort of the current regime for providing all needed facilities aimed at alleviating the suffering of the masses, Assuring the Governor of their unflinching support coming 2015.
The state chairman of the party stated that the state is the home of APC,The APC will have it way again in 2015 with what is happening currently, He Added.
“We in the ruling party in the state are sure of winning the state again”, calling on Fulani nomads and farmers in the state to bury their hatchet by embracing peace for progress to thrive.
