A middle aged man,Ikenna Onu who hails from Aguabosi village in Ugwuoba,Oji River local Government Area of Enugu state has allegedly axed his father to death.
The incident occurred on 4th July at the family compound.
Police Spokesman, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed the gruesome act in a release to newsmen saying, “The deceased, Christopher Onu, had allegedly returned from farm on that fateful day.
“He called his son(Ikenna Onu) and was advising him to shun smoking weed suspected to be Indian hemp.
“The suspect picked up an axe and inflicted a deep cut with it on the father’s head.
“The father slumped and died immediately. The deceased body has been deposited at the Oji-River hospital mortuary for autopsy while investigation is ongoing.
He further hinted that the suspect will be prosecuted as soon as investigation is completed.
