where is the army

The Nigerian military just released a statement in which they ‘explained’ why they have not yet – after three months – brought back our precious Chibok abducted girls. In the statement as presented in the media, the military claimed that their problem was ‘bringing back the girls alive.’

Director of Information, Defence Headquarters, Major General Chris Olukolade said, “To the best of our knowledge, they are still accessible. If we tried to force our way in, they may be killed. If we force our way there, they will kill them. This is what we want to avoid at all cost; rescue operations of that nature should not be done in a hurry. Sambisa (forest) is not impenetrable. But let me say it here: they mined almost everywhere around where they are keeping these girls.”

The position of Nigeria’s security department under Chief of defense staff, Air Marshal Alex Badeh, Security head, NSA Sambo Dasuki, Minister of defense, ex-NSA, Spy Aliyu Gusau and ultimately the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, is shameful, wicked and embarrassingly treacherous to put it mildly.

The girls are dead already. Quit the BS. The girls – being raped and killed in Sambisa forest are no better than dead. Our lazy, unwilling, unable and impotent, corruption riddled and grossly sabotaged security services are a sham and disgrace. They are afraid of dying on mission to rescue the girls. This is the truth about their position; harm to the girls who are harmed already beyond human redemption, is the least of their worries. Nigerians and the observing international community are no idiots. We are not in the least fooled into believing that the preservation of life is the least of the Nigerian security department’s worries. The military should just quit already and step aside so the willing coalition of Nigerian civilian patriots demanding the right to be armed and allowed into Sambisa to do the dignified, can go ahead and rescue the girls, dead or living-dead.

We call on all international organizations to initiate and enforce strict sanctions against Nigeria’s government and military personnel who have demonstrated indignant dereliction of duty to protect life and defend the nation against militants armed from the nation’s armory.

According to media reports, 7 more parents of the abducted girls have recently passed. The pain and trauma to the direct victims, families and larger nation can no longer ever be meaningfully reversed. The Nigerian military continues to stand aside and allow Boko Haram unlimited ability to reign full and uninhibited terror on Nigeria, including the continued abduction of even more innocent victims, with over 90 including 60 females, being abducted again this past month.

We the people vote no confidence in the Jonathan regime and the current military leadership of Nigeria.

We urge all traditional leaders and international players with the fear of God at heart and the will to act and act firmly towards the preservation of human life, safety, dignity and hope, to come out and press for real and clear action against terror.

In the recognition of the unwillingness and inability of the nation’s security services to perform their constitutional duties and paid obligations to the nation, we demand the Nigerian government immediately respond to the request of the people, the Civilian-JTF, Vigilante’s in the north east, traditional hunters and thousands of Nigerian willing and patriotic youth across the country, for the right and support of the government, to be armed appropriately and allowed to enter Sambisa forest to engage Boko Haram and rescue all abductees, ASAP, dead or living-as-dead. Government armed civilians are currently the resisting force in Iraq against the ISIS advance. Similarly, armed civilian patriots were key to checking a similar reign of terror in Algeria in the 90’s ‘Black decade.’ It is time for our government to act responsibly and stop aiding and promoting the genocide of its vulnerable, defenseless farming and trading, northern communities.

We the people, further call on the military to pull out of the north east. It can no longer be argued that the military presence in the conflict parts presents greater safety to life than it facilitates and exacerbates insecurity and danger to the communities of northern farmers most severely affected in this pogrom. Boko Haram are armed today with weapons from Nigeria’s armory. The terrorists continue to easily sack military installations and obtain sophisticated guns, light tanks and Armored Personnel Carriers, APC’s, which they utilize with absolute impunity, to inflict maximal causalities on the indigenes of the north east. Military helicopters are even said to give cover and assist the terrorists in their operations. The recklessness and carelessness of the Nigerian military, allowing its arms and vehicles to be obtained and utilized against the unarmed people of the affected zones constitutes unthinkable crimes against humanity and malicious sabotage of the people it is its duty to protect.  In this light, the Nigerian military which has continued for the four years of Boko Haram’s worst carnage, to be unable to confront the terrorists in their hideouts and to arrest them in their advances or recover stolen government military vehicles and weapons, is in effect aiding and abetting the continued reign of terror on the people of Borno state and neighboring states.

Every additional day, hour, minute, even second is too late! We refuse to continue to wait. Go to Sambisa, or step down and let us go.
