… Calls For Rehabilitation
Former Acting State Co-oridnator, and State Youth Leader, Imo State, Odili Presidential Network (OPN) Comrade Don Uba has called on Dr. Peter Odili as a matter of urgency to aid him financially so as to refund all the money he borrowed to facilitate his campaign prior to his withdrawal from the race to become the Presidential Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2007.
Odili was a two time governor of Rivers State between 1999 and 2007.
In a release made available to newsmen, Uba said that with what was on ground then, Odili was on the verge of clinching the PDP Presidential ticket, but the then president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo thought otherwise, adding that it is wise Peter Odili compensate him and others that committed their time, especially their resources to the project.
“When we inaugurated OPN in Imo State at Rosy Arts Theatre, I personally sourced for loans to finance the project, believing that Dr. Odili would scale through at the primaries, but Olusegun Obasanjo in his usual character extinguished the dream, that threw up the late immediate past president, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua”, the statement begins.
“I am aware that the former governor of Rivers State is not aware of my plight and that of others, but he should as a matter of urgency rehabilitate us and appreciate our National co-ordinator and Chief Political Consultant, Chief Johnkennedy Osuala for posterity sake,” Uba pleaded.
Uba, who is also a journalist described Odili as a kind hearted man who will not allow sentiments and greed to becloud his sense of reasoning, commended him on the way he has remained calm even in the clear case of provocation; pointing out that he could be contacted through the leadership of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Imo State Council.
