Gov Orji Sympathizes with Victims of Generator Fumes in Aba

Abia State Governor, Chief Theodore Orji, has sympathized with the worshippers of the Young Peoples Christian Fellowship at 8, Eziukwu Road, Aba, who became unconscious as a result of the inhalation of carbon monoxide poison from a generator set packed inside the church.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Charles Ajunwa, Governor Orji said since the sad news was broke to him that he had been praying fervently for their quick recovery.

Governor Orji who expressed happiness over the prompt treatment given to victims to save their lives by some good Samaritans including medical experts, implored Abians to continue to be their brother’s keeper.

He said what the affected worshippers needs most is our prayers to enable them recuperate fast adding that God Almighty who they had gone to sought His face would give them divine healing.

The governor also frowned at the unprofessional way a local radio station reported that 39 worshippers were confirmed dead in the incident.

He implored journalists to verify the source of their news before going ahead to feed the general public with such news, regretting that the said report from the local radio station caused panic in the entire state.
