Announcing the death of Hon. Comm for Agriculture Abia State

On Thursday 10th July 2014, the news of the gruesome attack by some unknown gun men on the Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Ken Nwosu a World Class Entomologist, an accomplished Agro Researcher and former Executive Director, Nigerian Root Crops Research Institute (NRCI) Umudike Abia State was reported.

It was gathered that some unknown gunmen shot Dr. Ken Nwosu on his way home from the office on The 10th July 2014 but didn’t disposes him. He was subsequently rushed to the Abia State Specialist Hospital where a team of Medical Experts operated on him.

Dr. Ken Nwosu appeared to have survived the attacked after some surgical procedure was carried out on him. For couple of days, while the Doctors were waiting for him to be stabilized before further post surgery care, Dr. Ken’s wife and other family were with him in the hospital. He received and spoke well to visitors including the Governor and his family that visited him on two occasions in the Hospital.

However, we were deeply shocked to hear the news of his death this morning the 15th day of July 2014.

On behalf of the Abia State Government, It is with deep sense of grief that I announce the death Dr. Ken Nwosu, the Commissioner for Agriculture Abia State. Abia State Government is mourning! We are mourning the death of a very good gentle man, an Agric Expert and astute administrator.

The Government of Abia State will like to use this moment to assure its citizens of continuous protection of lives and property in the State as the State will stop at nothing to get those behind the evil act that led to the death of the Honourable Commissioner.
