Imo Initiative is writing to call for the immediate release of Citizen Ikenna Samuelson Iwuoha who is being held by the Imo State police command Owerri. Iwuoha was arrested on June 3, 2014 after gun men made attempt at his life. The gunmen killed one person in the process. When the gunmen opened fire people scampered to safety and some persons ran into his apartment. The person murdered was not murdered in Samuelson’s apartment.The police are torturing Iwuoha’s wife trying to force her to accept that the killing was committed in Iwuoha’s appartment.
The police in collaboration with the Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly are plotting to charge Iwuoha for murder so as to silence him. Imo initiative is pointing fingers at the Speaker who has severally threatened to deal with Samuelson. Iwuoha is a popular social activist in Imo State known for criticising corrupt politicians. He has severally criticized the Imo Speaker for corruption and threats to his life were made.
How can an assasination attempt be turned to murder charge against the victim.Why is the police eager to pin something on Iwuoha. Iwuoha has no criminal history . For some time now he has been crying out that his life was in danger and that the Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly and some aides to the speaker have threatened to kill him. The police never investigated his cry of threats to his life. 15 other persons are held alongside Iwuoha including his wife.
Iwuoha is not a cultist. He is an activist. Imo Initiative wish to make it clear that whatever is happening to Samuelson Iwuohs is not as a result of cult activity. The people he was opening their illicit deals in Imo State government should be held responsible if anything happens to Samuelson. We are of the view that human right lawyers should move in now and make sure that the master minders of his incarceration did not succeed in whatever plans they have with the police

I find it particularly reprehensible that Nigeria, as a nation is battle-worried on how best to incise the terror group, Boko Haram, from within it’s body politik, while Imo State is compounding that worry by attempting to silence a voice that advocates for an anti-corruption Nigeria. A band of hoodlums have reportedly gone on a rampage at the residence of Mr. Iwuoha Samuelson to silence or intimidate him out not clinging to his position in making Nigerians, and Imo State residents in particular, to realize that corruption has run rampart in the state, and in the process, killed an innocent bystander to send the message loud and clear to Mr. Samuelson that some “other thing” is imminent. Now, how does one account for the loss of such an innocent life?. Killing an innocent soul to send a message to some one – where are we going as a country, or people?
I am not from Imo State but the discerning public is tired of this Samuelson Iwuoha of a guy. Is the Speaker of Imo Assenbly in the Executive? How can the Speaker be implementing the budget? If the Speaker fired him, let him go and look for another job. The Speaker was kind enough to give him a job when he desperatly needed one.
This is a question of a disgruntled employee. The fact that he can write and have access to diaspora media groups should not give him the right to flood us with all the inuendos and malicious articles either directly or through his proxies. The proxies keep changing their names which makes us believe it is all the same undesirables.
Before it was somebody else and today it is Mike Okereke. Mike Okereke, find a way to move Imo forward. Leave Samuelson Iwuoha alone. He is bad news and no good employer will hire him again, knowing his history.
