Unknown gunmen have invaded Tansi Catholic Church at World Bank Housing Estate, Abayi, Aba, Abia state and robbed a priest, Rev. Father Emeka Okoro of cash and other valuables.
247ureports.com gathered that the gunmen who were over ten in number entered the church’s parsonage through the back fence at about 12:45 and made away with a black Honda Accord car with registration number Lagos LND 47 AC.
A member of the Parish who declined to have his name on print said they learnt about the incident when they came for morning mass.
“We learnt that they made away two laptops, one I-pad, his handset and unestimated amount of money including his Honda car, but the Rev. Fr was not hurt.”
As at the time of filing this report, attempts to speak with the Priest did not yield fruit as he was said to be out of the parish.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Abia state command, ASP Geoffrey Ogbonna who confirmed the incident, called on members of the public to volunteer information that could lead to the arrest of the gunmen.
