Some of the placards inscribed; ‘our children no longer go to school during rainy season, flood kills our brothers and children, people in Odunke Layout no loner live in their homes, our amiable Governor Obiano please come to our rescue’ among others are part of event mapped out to draw the attention of the government and the international communities into the already drowning Oduke Layout.
In their separate contributions, Chief Dickson Orunwa, Chief Ude Orji and Bro. Emmanuel Ezidigwe said apart from the forceful ejection of over 300 tenants and landlords out of the layout by the disaster, property worth over 300 million naira have been lost by the entire landlords and tenants. They said the erosion and the flood channeled to their layout by Consolidated Construction Company, CCC is worst than the Boko Haram sect, calling on Governor Willie Obiano to come to their aide.
