No fewer than 20 road blocks were mounted in Lafia metropolis, the state capital, causing untold hardship to both pedestrians and other road users.

While road linking roundabout to the state headquarter of the NSCDC-office of Board of Internal Revenue was blocked by the Nigeria Security & Civil Defense preventing people from passing to their destinations while tight uniform men were seen at Specialist Hospital-Shendam road traffic light.
The major and only federal highway linking the north-central zone and eastern states was accessible to road users,This not only caused untold hardship but paralyzed business activities in the old Lafia market.
All roads linking the market right from diamond bank Doma road, Palace-old market are no go area as shops remain closed as at the time of filling this report.
Commuters plying Agyaragu,Obi,Doma ,Kadarko and other nearby communities are stranded for hours before knowing their direction.
A driver plying Nasarawa Eggon-Abuja highway from Lafia lament decision of the state Government to come up with harsh law, Police Public Relation Officer Superintendent Numan said the decision was to ensure the protection of lives of the citizenry.
“We are expecting highly placed personalities to the state and is our task to protect them with the current security threat in the country”.
