Former Chief Security Officer to former Head of State General Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha said he is considering instituting a legal suit against former President Olusegun Obasanjo over the letter he wrote to President Goodluck Jonathan accusing him of training snipers.
He made the comment in Kaduna during media briefing. He said he will take action on Obasanjo’s letter at the end of the investigation launched by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on the matter.
“The National Human Rights Commission is still investigating the letter he wrote to the president. When they finish, findings will be out and open to the public. And because of the sensitivity of the content of the letter and because we are also touched, certainly there are subsequent legal procedures to follow.”
Commenting on the current spate of bombings in the country he said Nigerians must join forces on the war on terror. “It is disheartening, disturbing and every Nigerian wherever we are those at home and those in Diaspora should realize that we all have everything it takes to support the stemming out of the current insurgency in Nigeria.”
When asked about the competency of the military in terror fight he said “I don’t want to talk muck on security issues but Nigerian military is one of the best in the world; this I know pretty well.”
