Renowned Nigeria Jurist, Justice Chukwudifu Oputa is dead.
247ureports.com gathered that the former Judge of the Supreme Court died this afternoon at the age of 96.
In a statement signed by the son of the deceased, Charles Oputa (Charlyboy), said that ” The Family of Justice Chukwudifu Oputa wishes to announce the passing to glory of the eminent jurist and a retired Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria at the age of 96″.
He passed on peacefully on sunday afternoon, 4th May 2014, after recovering from a brief illness. Funeral announcements will soon be released by the family.
The eminent judge was the former Chairman of the Oputa Panel and father to singer, Charly Boy.
